You only get your one year old shots once

Today Marley got her one year old vaccinations.  In total, she got four shots, including the flu shot, plus an extra finger poke for hemoglobin and lead testing.  For a strange reason, it feels like a milestone.  They are only little once, and only a few days in the life of a parent do you get to hold your baby in the doctor's office while she's getting her shots and then watch her tiny face crunch up and go silent momentarily, and then comfort the sweetest cry in the world.  When we got home, Marley wanted undivided cuddling for the next two hours.  I gladly obliged.  You only get your one year old shots once.
