Autumn in Nebraska
My work tends to be somewhat cyclical. A couple times a year, my work becomes insanely busy. The rest of the year, it's manageably busy. Even when it is insanely busy, I'm usually doing work things that I'm honored to have the opportunity to do, but it's still insanely busy. This September has tended toward the crazy. Yet, as these days have gone by, bits of fall won't let me miss them. Like the amazing Harvest Moon on my 5:30 a.m. run. The roar of the crowd at the high school football game at the University's field on the edge of our neighborhood. Even on my commute, the interstate between Lincoln and Omaha is nothing short of a treat at this time of year with fields of sunflowers mile after mile. The Harvest Moon, football, fields of sunflowers. No matter how busy we are, it is still autumn in Nebraska.
