Toddler Gods

We almost always just take Marley right to the cry room at church. It is pretty nice as far as cry rooms go, with plenty of seating for us to share with the several other families who routinely also seek soundproof seclusion from the get-go. It also has plenty of well-used board books to try to minimize the noise making from within the room itself. Of course, some of the books provoke commentary anyway. The other day Marley picked out two books to flip through. The first was a farm themed flap book and the other was about Easter. She was pretty cute lifting the flaps and naming the animals, "a cow," "a dog," "a horse," "a duck...". Then she picked up the other book and turned to a picture of a bearded man standing at a table of a dozen other bearded men and did pretty much the same thing, pointing to each, "a God," "a God," "a God..."
